The hotel

The environment is relaxed and friendly and you always feel like you are the only one there which is amazing. Service from the staff is one of the best overall that i have experienced and i travel extensively. The training given to staff must be very thorough as they always greet the same way and never miss an opportunity to make you feel welcome. Beautiful decor, spacious, clean and with every amenity you could ever require, and a perfect view.- Our own personal butler (Anand) who catered for our every needs. Thanks.- Restaurants ... breakfast at Zest an dinners at 101. What great food, a huge choice and the quality of service was astonishing.- The pool is beautiful and was very quiet most days. Loungers and day beds were great. The pool manager (Tharindu) and his staff were wonderful.- Finally, management, front desk and concierge. TBH everything was so perfect I rarely has cause to speak to them other that a very polite "good morning Mr Pond" as we passed on-route to breakfast or dinner.My only dilemma now is next year .... Back to the Royal mirage or return to the Palm ... 1st world problems ! Read less

It's pretty limited when you come down to it. We weren't up for 2-star food, we tried the clubby seafood at 101 and left after starters because the food was too much -- everything overprepared, too creative, too rich. - The prices: it was 3-4x other great options so you really, really pay for the location and the know-your-name service Read less
